Easter Day

Lectionary Bible Readings

Acts 10:34-43 or Isaiah 65:17-25

Psalm 118:1-2, 14-24

1 Corinthians 15:19-26 or Acts 10:34-43

John 20:1-18 or Luke 24:1-12

Mary Magdalene’s sadness was turned into joy when she recognised Jesus and she immediately went to tell the disciples that she has seen him.

Through the resurrection of Jesus we celebrate the joy of his victory over sin and death. It is the basic tenet of the Christian faith. How does the grace of the Resurrection affect me? I pray that I may welcome with joy the message of the risen Jesus, believing in the power of his presence in my life.

The Brightest Light

The veil of darkness transformed to the brightest light. The most dreadful end became the most beautiful beginning. The depths of despair fade to reveal hope everlasting. The curse of death defeated by eternal life.
