Mark 4:35-41

Lord, I resonate with this story.

Life’s storms hit unexpectedly and toss me into a sea of chaos, doubt and anxiety.

When the waves threaten to swamp
my little boat, make me aware that I have you with me as my precious passenger.

Let me hear your voice saying:

‘Peace! Be still!

We give thanks

Heavenly Father,

Thank you for being our strength
when we are weak.

Thank you for your promises that speak love
and peace into our lives every day.

Help me to trust your Word
and claim it to be truth!

Please help us to wait on
your perfectly timed plans,
fully surrendering our lives to your leading.

In Jesus’ Name, Amen.

Remembering Others

O God, when I have food,
help me to remember the hungry;
When I have work,
help me to remember the jobless;
When I have a home,
help me to remember those who have no home at all;
When I am without pain,
help me to remember those who suffer,
And remembering,
help me to destroy my complacency;
bestir my compassion,
and be concerned enough to help;
By word and deed,
those who cry out for what we take for granted.
